Pamela Bedore

Associate Professor, English, Avery Point campus


Pamela Bedore is an Associate Professor of English at UConn’s Avery Point campus, where she teaches courses in American Literature and Popular Culture. She is the Chair of the Common Curriculum Committee, ushering in UConn’s new general education curriculum. Pam regularly supervises graduate and undergraduate independent studies and internships in various areas of popular culture, gender theory, and genre theory.

Pam’s research is in popular literature and culture. She is author of Canadian Crime Fiction (Routledge, 2024), Great Utopian and Dystopian Works of Literature (The Great Courses, 2017), and Dime Novels and the Roots of American Detective Fiction (Palgrave, 2013). She was book review editor of Clues for ten years and was recently a visiting scholar at an NEH Climate Futurism Institute.
