About Tracks and Courses
(Note: A number of the classes listed below are cross-listed in the catalogue, but in most cases they appear on this list only once. Be aware that some are listed under "special topics" numbers, which means that they are not offered on a regular basis, and that some have departmental prerequisites. Also, many of these classes are often taught as "W" courses. Students should check the course schedule each semester for the most up-to-date information.)
Other elective courses may be used toward the American Studies Minor with the approval of the Director of American Studies. If possible, students should seek permission before taking the course.
All courses must be taken for three credits.

The Core Courses may not be used to fulfill the 9-credit track requirement. A second core course from the same group, however, may be so used.
