Osvaldo Pardo

Osvaldo F. Pardo teaches courses on Latin American colonial literature and intellectual history as well as film. His research has focused on early interactions between Nahuas and European missionaries in the Central Valley of Mexico. He is also interested in the development of scientific traditions and institutions in the Spanish colonies. Prof. Pardo is the author of The Origins of Mexican Catholicism (The University of Michigan Press, 2004), and Honor and Personhood in Early Modern Mexico (The University of Michigan Press, forthcoming Spring 2015).
