Pamela Bedore is an Associate Professor of English at UConn’s Avery Point campus, where she teaches courses in American Literature and Popular Culture. She is the Writing Coordinator for the Avery Point campus, so she can help with First-Year Writing, writing tutoring, and W courses. Pam regularly supervises graduate and undergraduate independent studies and internships in various areas of popular culture, gender theory, and genre theory.
Pam’s main research interests are in popular literature and culture. She recently released a lecture series, Great Utopian and Dystopian Works of Literature (The Great Courses, 2017), and is author of Dime Novels and the Roots of American Detective Fiction (Palgrave, 2013). She is also the book review editor for Clues: A Journal of Detection. Pam’s two current research projects are: 1) a lecture series on Great Works of Fantasy Fiction and 2) a monograph on mother detectives in fiction.
